Favourite nail polish ❤

Hi Chumerinas!!

Hope you’re all doing great and having a fantastic week so far!!

Just wanted to share a quick thought on my new favourite nail polish, which is called tart deco by essie, and it’s amazing, it last really long and doesn’t chip at all. The application is really easy and it’s quite a thick nail polish, so you don’t have to apply a lot and it dries super quickly as well :) I put two coats on and the I put one top coat of essence colour and go glittery polish on which I just thought looked really cute and girly :) xoxo

Foody face masks whilst pondering London❤

Hi Chumerinas!!

Feel like I haven’t blogged in ages! Sorry about that, but I’ve just been lazing it up the last couple of days and spending time with the family, speaking of happy Fathers day everyone!!

So I’ve realised that 10 days from today I’m off to London for the very first time!! I’ve been overseas a few times before but never the UK and I’m sooooo excited!!

Any ideas of what I should go do? I know like the obvious touristy stuff but maybe some hidden gems? Feel free to leave some comments :)

Last week I made some amazing face masks, and I thought I’d share it with you :)

It’s for dry skin, because it’s winter here in South Africa and my skin goes really really dry and these face masks are the only things that helps.

The first one is an avocado one (they’re in season at the moment yay!)

All you need is:

  • ½ very ripe, soft avocado
  • ¼ cup honey

Then just mash the avo and stir in the honey, apply to your skin and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse and moisturize.

The second one is a Oatmeal and onion mask and is recommended for oily and acne prone skin and it’s really good :) It takes a little time to prepare and you might think the onion is weird, but it’s really nice and helps with controlling and preventing acne as well as with the scars it leaves behind.

All you need is:

  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/3 cup plain oatmeal
  • 1 large yellow or white onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of honey

Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Make a smooth puree of the onion in a food processor. Add onion and honey to the oatmeal paste while still warm. Stir (for 2 minutes) and spread on face leaving it for 10 minutes. If the mask isn’t thick enough, add more honey.

You can use it again, just store in the fridge for up to a week, but don’t freeze it and you can also warm it up when you want to use it again.

Ok I hoped you like this, and let me know if you’ve tried it or if you know of some amazing face mask as well.

Have a great week!! ❤xoxo

My First Blogging Award: One Lovely Blog! ❤

one-love-blog-awardHi Chumerinas!!

I’m so excited, I’ve just received my first nomination for the “One Lovely Blog” award. I can’t thank Michele from http://trendybelleblog.wordpress.com/ enough!! Be sure to go look her up, she has an amazing blog and is constantly updating it so make sure to go take a look! ❤

Here are the rules of the award:

  • Thank the person (or lovely girls) who nominated you
  • Add the “One Lovely Blog Award” image to your post
  • Share 7 things about you
  • Pass the award to seven nominees
  • Inform the nominees by posting on their blogs

So here are seven things about me:

1. I only drink black tea and milky coffee I think milky tea is just really bad but on the other hand black coffee — not nice! I know right quite weird!

2. I have a twin sister but we’re not identical at all!! And we’re so different it’s like east and west! But I love her dearly!

3. I grew up on Rooibos tea it’s a proudly South African tea and it’s the only tea I’ll ever drink! It’s delicious and I strongly recommend it to all my fellow tea lovers out there

4. I will be able to live on popcorn forever I just looove popcorn so much! I go to the movies just so I can have yet another excuse to have some, not that I really need one though lol! Plus it’s healthier than chips so I don’t even feel bad about it!

5. I used to name all my pets after myself because they were my “family” and I’m Afrikaans and in our culture you’re named after like your gran or someone, so always thought it’s so fitting to name them after myself :D

6. I barely wear any makeup when I’m home because I just go home in the holidays and I’m such a lazybum sometimes that I just never feel the need to put on makeup. If we go out somewhere then I will but for those lazy days where I just lie in bed and watch series — never

7. I’ve never bitten my nails ever in my life, my twin sister on the other hand has the shortest little nails ever!

Now here is the totally awesome part, I get to pass this award on to seven other bloggers! All the blogs I follow are absolutely fabulous, but these guys have really captured my attention with their eye catching blogs:

3. Ashley’s blog  at http://lifeofahousewife.com/ is definitely one of my favourites. Her blog is the cutest blog ever and she’s stunning! She’s all about makeup and her blog is just so happy. Go check her out!

4. This next one is a must see! Erin from http://scrapbookstyle.wordpress.com/ Her blog is gorgeous! So personal but very high fashion and such a fun read!

5. Vintage Girl At Heart, wow if you love a good read, then this is for you. There’s something for everyone and I like that it’s much more personal than most, http://foodfashionmakeup.wordpress.com exactly like the name says it’s about fashion, food and makeup, my favourite things in the world!

6. The next girl has a stunning blog all about fashion, beauty and some really great makeup tips and best buys! Watch out for Yara Shakar an upcoming designer, follow her blog at http://gingertwine.wordpress.com

May Favourites ❤

Hi Chumerinas!

I know it’s a bit late, it’s already the 8th but I thought it’s fine :) I really wanted to do this blog. Here’s my May favourites.

May Favourites!

This is just my favourite beauty products I’ve been using this month and some randoms as well.

1. Rimmel BB Cream

I have it in the shade “Light”. I’m really loving this BB cream and it has a very sheer cover but it’s great for when I don’t feel like wearing to much makeup. It doesn’t have a strong scent unlike some other Rimmel products I’ve tried so it gets bonus points for that and my face felt soft and moisturised as well (I do still use another moisturiser as well though). It didn’t make my face feel oily like some other BB creams and had a semi-mat appearance. I used a flat top brush to apply it and it worked really well.

2. Essence XXXL shine lipgloss

One of my friends bought me this lipgloss in the shade nr 07 Big night out. It smells like strawberry candy and it’s not sticky at all, gives so much shine, quite pigmented, creamy texture and last pretty well throughout the day. I think Essence cosmetics are so under-rated the quality is great and so cheap!

3. Essence I ❤ Style liquid eyeliner

Normally I’m not a big fan of liquid eyeliner because it always seems to be quite runny, but this one isn’t like that at all. The application of this liner is easy, because applicator is smooth, and it’s very pigmented. The only problem I have with this one is, that I can’t apply thin line on my eyes with it. This liner is not waterproof. It’s great for everyday use, because it stays long on eyes. I’ve actually had it for quite a while, but I only started using it recently.

4.Yardley Quick dry nail polish

I have it in the colour “Candy Burst” and I’m just in love with that colour, it’s such a pretty colour, perfect for Summer or brighten up those dull Winter days. In order to achieve an even full colour I used 2 coats on my nails and it looks gorgeous and does dry really quickly which is always a plus. This is a really good quality, inexpensive nail polish.  The nail polish has a great pigment and goes on evenly and smoothly.

5.Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Oil Nutritive Express-Repair-Conditioner Spray

I love this product so much, every time I wash my hair I spray it on afterwards and it smells amazing! It acts a bit as a detangler and makes brushing my long hair much easier. I use heat styling way to much and every time before I’d use my straightener I spray some on my hair.

6.Neutrogena Visibly Clear® Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

I use this twice a day and quite a lot as you can see it’s almost finished. The smell is amazing, I love fragrant fruity smells, so that’s definitely a plus. I have oily/combination skin, and I bought this in an attempt to clear it up. In the few weeks I’ve been using it, my skin has gotten clearer. It doesn’t do much for existing spots, but in terms of preventing them, it’s pretty good. It also foams up nicely, without taking away the exfoliating effect of the microbeads. It does make my skin a little dry though but I use a good moisturiser and then it’s fine.

7.Dove Beauty Finish deodorant spray

I’ve used it for about two weeks now and I really like it. It smells really good and it lasts all day.

8.Kleenex Aqua hand&face wipes

I love having some king of hand wipe in my handbag at all times and my friend recommended this to me. I’m so glad she did because it makes me feel so refreshed and I think this will be especially good for Summer time.

9.DKNY be delicious perfume

I know it’s quite an old perfume but I just really love the smell of it and I got it as a birthday present. I use it quite a lot, it’s just so fragrant and it lasts all day!

10.Forever new pink and gold earrings

These are just the cutest little earrings ever! I wear them quite a lot and it goes with almost all my outfits. And they are just so pretty :)

11.Woolworths fleece throw

It’s Winter exam time in Stellenbosch, so it’s freezing cold and rains for days on end and this light pink incredibly soft blanket has been such a help getting me through late nights of studying.

12.Lana Del Ray Paradise Platinum edition

Wow I can’t stop listening to this cd! Especially the second disk, it’s amazing! I never really listened to her music until I heard Young and Beautiful from The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which I might add was such a gorgeous movie! Not sure if you can call movies gorgeous but that movie was absolutely stunning! I think  I was born in the wrong era, would have loved to wear all those clothes and shoes! Anyways to get back to the cd, it didn’t disappoint at all.

Well that is all my favourites for the month of May, I hope you liked it and please feel free to comment ❤ xoxo
